Acacia Simone Barnett is a Sierra Vista native. She was raised by her grandparents Hattie and Clayton Barnett. She graduated from Buena High School in 2007 and continued with her education graduating as a proud Arizona State University Sun Devil in 2013. In addition to being an entrepreneur with two businesses in Sierra Vista, AZ, Acacia is dedicated to community support and outreach. She was recognized as Philanthropist of The Year in 2017 and 2018 by the Herald Review’s Best of the Vista.

She recently received the Golden Standard Award during Black History Month from the Phoenix Suns for her work in the community in February 2022. Ms. Barnett has provided over $7,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors of Buena High School.

In 2016, Ms. Barnett founded the Girls Confidence Camp. Since then, the Camp has seen a 200% increase in attendance. Girls Confidence Camp is an exceptional opportunity for the girls and young women of Southern Arizona. As the Camp enters its fifth year, Acacia continues to show her outpouring of love and dedication—along with extensive planning—to make an impactful difference in these children’s lives.
